В каждом выпуске шоу «Викторина с шарами» две семьи сражаются за 100 000 долларов в «битве шаров». Стоя на высокой платформе над сверкающим бассейном, они должны работать сообща, отвечая на вопросы теста с вариантами ответов, где за каждым вариантом закреплено место с гигантским шаром позади него. Если выбран правильный ответ, шар скатывается и останавливается прямо перед игроком; если ответ неверный, массивный шар стремительно летит вниз и беспощадно сбивает их в бассейн. Чем больше игроков теряет команда, тем сложнее становятся вопросы. Чем дольше они продержатся, тем больше денег накопится, пока один оставшийся «сухим» член семьи не выйдет в финальный раунд за главный приз в 100 000 долларов.
