О пятом сезоне «Camp Wannakiki» было объявлено 5 апреля 2022 года через Instagram-аккаунт шоу; в публикации говорилось, что живые прослушивания пройдут на Международном драг-фестивале в Остине 23 апреля того же года.
10 мая 2023 года на странице шоу в Instagram был официально представлен актерский состав 5-го сезона. На следующий день было выпущено видео на Youtube, представляющее каждого участника.
